First day of class

Classroom

The classroom you have been assigned will be the same throughout Term 1 – Common Core. Occasionally, you may have classes in other IE buildings nearby.

Name Tags

You will receive a name tag and during your classes you should keep it in front of you so that professors can identify you. You are responsible for taking these with you at the end of the day and bringing them back for your next class.

Seating Chart

Students will choose their own seats before Term 1 – Common Core starts and should keep that seat througout the term. During the session called CLASSROOM SEAT SELECTION, students will have the opportunity to choose their seats through a democratic process. The seating chart decided during this session will be definitive.

Workgroup

During your first Workgroup meeting, we recommend getting to know each other, setting basic work rules (for example managing the workload, timelines, deadlines, responsibilities, meeting frequency and rules, communication, etc.), and assigning leadership/coordination roles if necessary.
It is highly recommended to get to know the strengths of each member and develop a work schedule that is clearly focused on a well-defined common goal for the group. Using project management tools is a good start – Asana, BaseCamp, Smartsheets, Evernote, etc.
Please note that group work is an important part of your MBA experience. All courses will have a part of your grade assigned to group projects. You should check the syllabus of each course for more details regarding the evaluation criteria.

Key Dates

Remember to check the Calendar to see the school days and holidays. Rely on your Blackboard Ultra Agenda for your short-term schedule.

Beginning of Program (BOP)

During the first week of Term 1- Common Core, the IMBA Team key contacts will visit your section to go over the most relevant aspects of the Beginning of the Program (BOP).

Here you can find the BOP Presentation.

The IMBA office, located on the 6th floor in MM31, has an open-door policy from Monday to Friday. Students may also schedule an appointment by contacting directly the general IMBA e-mail account.
