IE Talent & Careers Launches IE Generations to Strengthen Connections Across Students and Alumni

IE Talents and Careers has unveiled IE Generations, a new initiative connecting students with alumni worldwide through one-to-one mentoring and professional dialogue, drawing on alumni experience across industries, careers, and international markets. IE Generations introduces a platform aimed at bridging alumni and students' global relationships via mentorship, shared experiences, and professional dialogue. 

Mentorship has long been part of IE’s ethos, with initiatives like Global Alumni Relations' Flash Mentorship or Global Networking Live. IE Generations offers a permanent extension to that culture by scaling these interactions into an ongoing, accessible, community-wide framework that promotes continuity well beyond graduation. 

At its core, the platform replaces hierarchy with reciprocity, embracing growth as non-linear and success as non-solitary. 

"Over the years, I’ve learned that mentorship begins with the intention to help, but quickly becomes a mirror, a compass, and a shared path forward," said Camila Gonzalez, Senior Associate Director of Talent & Careers at IE. "IE Generations captures this spirit—a community where the experience of one can become the possibility of another."

To join IE Generations, users register via LinkedIn or their IE credentials. To personalise their experience, participants must indicate their reasons for joining—whether they are seeking guidance, offering it, or both—and select relevant industries and areas of interest, allowing the platform to tailor connections and recommendations.

Mentor profiles are visible in advance, enabling members to request virtual meetings aligned with their goals and availability. Sessions are designed to be flexible, accommodating different time zones, schedules, and professional commitments.

In addition to mentoring conversations, students can access curated guides and resources within the platform, including industry overviews, career exploration materials, and practical job-search references.

"I mentor because being truly heard—and genuinely believed in—can change the direction of a life," Gonzalez added. "Transformation often begins when someone finally feels seen."

Valuable insights are often sparked by the ambitions and vulnerabilities of peers navigating similar transitions at different moments.
