Dr. Mira Milosevich

Dr. Mira Milosevich is Senior Analyst for Russia and Eurasia at the Elcano Royal Institute. She holds a PhD degree in European Studies from University Complutense of Madrid  and degree in Sociology and Political Science from University of Belgrade.

She was  Adjunct Professor at the IE University and  Instituto Universitario José Ortega y Gasset. She has been teaching various courses including “History of International Relations since 1945”, “Contemporary Global Issues”, “East Europe: from Communism to Integration” During 2005 and 2006 she did research work on Muslim Communities in the Balkans and post communist Russia with a post doctoral grant from the Spanish Ministry of Education.

Dr Mira Milosevich has authored three books: The last one (2017) is  ‘Breve historia de la Revolución Rusa’, (A short history of The Russian revolution, (5 editions)), and  two books on Serbian regime of Slobodan Milosevic and its role in Yugoslav wars with special focus on Kosovo (‘Los tristes y los héroes: Historias de nacionalistas serbios’ (2000), and ‘El trigo de la guerra: Nacionalismo y violencia en Kosovo’ (2001)).

Her research areas  are Russia, Eurasia, Eastern Europe and the Balkans, with focus on security and defense policy, political history, the processes of transition to democracy in post-communist countries, and their relationship with the EU, USA and NATO.
