To ensure the maximum success with this program, we have also introduced the Career Discovery Accelerator, which is designed to help you learn more about yourself throughout your educational journey. It’s a new initiative designed especially to reassure you about where want to go in your career so that you can make the best choices about your concentration, electives and other program options.

What is the International MBA Career Discovery Accelerator?

Think of it as a trusted guide to your personal and professional growth, enabling you to make well-informed decisions about your future.

The Career Discovery Accelerator is a vital part of your studies, consisting of a series of hands-on workshops, held in small groups, to help you make decisions within the program and your future career beyond IE Business School. You’ll be able to talk to and engage with professionals in different fields, discovering what a typical day in their role looks like and what it takes to get a job in a particular sector or industry.

From launch to decision: your transformational journey

In the LAUNCH phase, we lay the foundation for your career discovery journey. With the help of carefully curated introductory materials, exercises and self-assessments, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the world of work and your place in it. We’ll encourage you to reflect on your skills, assets and drivers, setting you on your journey to self-discovery, and personal and professional growth.

In the EXPLORE phase, you’ll start to define your choices, taking a deep dive into your specific interests and options. Immersing yourself in pathway content, you’ll discover possible career outcomes and map out your unique career strategy. And we’ll provide you with the necessary tools for interview preparation, ensuring you stand out from the competition.

Finally, in the DECIDE phase, the pieces of the puzzle all come together. You’ll be able to see the connection between who you are, your strengths, your purpose, and the career pathway of your choice. It’s here that you’ll make your final decisions and begin to hone your skills in your chosen field, working towards a future aligned with your goals and ambitions.

A full program of events dedicated to your career pathway

1. During your orientation week, you’ll get a comprehensive overview of the eight career pathways open to you during the Career Discovery Days. These two days, held at IE Tower, are designed to help you find the perfect fit for your ambitions. You’ll be able to delve into each career pathway through insightful presentations and guidance from our team of expert Pathway Directors and experienced career advisors. The sessions are designed to give you a deeper understanding of what each pathway entails, setting you on the course to your ideal career.
2. This is followed by a series of 30-minute online Pathway Q&A sessions. These offer an ideal opportunity for you to engage directly with each Pathway Director, ask questions, seek advice, and gain invaluable insights. There are a total of eight open sessions, each dedicated to one of the career pathways. Participation in these Q&A sessions is optional but highly encouraged. They provide a unique platform for you to clarify any doubts you may have and gain a deeper understanding of the pathways you are considering.
3. The culmination of our Career Discovery Events, the Pathway Panels, takes place at the V-Hub in Madrid. During these lively and informative 45-minute live sessions per pathway, you’ll be able to hear directly from accomplished alumni and industry experts as they share valuable insights, experiences and advice related to their careers.

The Pathway Panels also feature an engaging Q&A segment, allowing you to seek further clarity and guidance. To cap off these sessions, you’re invited to join us for a casual cocktail, providing the perfect environment to expand your network and establish meaningful connections within your chosen industry.
