What does the admission process involve for students in Benelux?

Our admissions process is thorough in order to discover the best qualities of each applicant and ensure that they will fit with our educational philosophy. Once you have chosen a program from our wide range of master’s degrees, the application process includes four main stages:

1. Online application: Begin by filling out an online application and paying a non-refundable fee of €150. Your application can be edited as needed but must be submitted within one month.

2. Admissions test: Next, you will need to demonstrate your critical-thinking and reasoning abilities with an admissions test. Depending on which program you are applying for, you may need to take our IE Global Admissions Test (ieGAT), or another exam such as the GMAT, GRE, CFA or CAIA. Visit the admissions section within your program’s information page to find out the specific requirements. You may also need to complete a test of English, which can be TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency, or the Duolingo English Test.

3. Online assessment: The next step will be an online assessment designed to evaluate your critical-thinking skills and real-time responses. You’ll answer three questions live (two oral questions and one written) via a virtual platform. It takes about twenty minutes to complete.

4. Personal interview: Following the test and assessment, successful candidates will be interviewed by our Admissions Committee. This is your opportunity to demonstrate how your passions align with IE University’s values.

Following these steps, our Admissions Department will finalize the decision on your application and get back to you within a couple of weeks.

Transitioning to a new country can be challenging, but Student Services is ready to help you in every way they can.

To find housing in Madrid, we recommend using Beyond Campus, our preferred housing provider. They can help you find IE University-approved accommodation in the area. Our Benelux office can also help you connect with fellow students from the region. Once admitted, you’ll gain access to our Slack channels for students seeking housing, which are a great resource for those interested in sharing an apartment.
