Frequently Asked Questions about IE School of Science and Technology

  • IE School of Science & Technology offers four bachelor's degrees: the Bachelor in Data and Business Analytics, the Bachelor in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, the Bachelor in Applied Mathematics, and the Bachelor in Environmental Sciences for Sustainability. The school also offers undergraduate dual degrees, including the Dual Degree in Bachelor in Business Administration & Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and the Dual Degree in Economics and Applied Mathematics.  

  • Yes. IE School of Science & Technology students explore projects spanning AI, data science, robotics, and emerging tech as part of hands-on learning across every program. The Bachelor in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence integrates AI and machine learning throughout its core curriculum, while the Bachelor in Data and Business Analytics focuses on data science applications. Students can further deepen specializations through electives, IEX Research Xcelerator projects, and industry partnerships.   

  • Applicants must submit a completed online application, official high school transcripts, and results from either the IE University Admissions Test, the SAT, or the ACT. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency through standardized tests; IE accepts IELTS, TOEFL, and Duolingo scores. Shortlisted candidates are also invited to a personal interview with the Admissions Committee, which evaluates academic potential, motivation, and fit.  

  • A strong background in mathematics is recommended, particularly for programs such as Computer Science & AI and Applied Mathematics, but a formal STEM education is not always a strict requirement. IE School of Science & Technology uses a holistic admissions process that considers academic performance, personal motivation, and potential alongside test scores.

The Master in Computer Science & Business Technology offers specializations in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Solutions Management, Tech Sales & Consulting, Quantum Computing, Cybersecurity, and Aerospace Technology, with electives spanning robotics, blockchain, Industry 4.0, and tech entrepreneurship.

The Master in Computer Science & Business Technology at IE School of Science & Technology includes specializations in Artificial Intelligence, and electives covering robotics, blockchain, and emerging technologies. The Master in Business Analytics and Data Science is specifically designed to develop advanced expertise in data science, machine learning, and AI applications for business. Both programs embed hands-on work with industry partners and the latest tools in the field.  

  • Applicants must submit an online application with a CV, transcripts, diploma, references, and a personal statement, and must take the IE Global Admissions Test (ieGAT), GMAT, or GRE. Most IE master's programs require proof of C1-level English proficiency, and the admissions process evaluates candidates holistically; considering professional experience, academic performance, motivation, extracurricular activities, and soft skills.
