Grupo Social ONCE and IE University to provide training for people with disabilities and access to the corporate world

Agreement will raise awareness, foster education, promote entrepreneurship and social innovation and increase the employability of people with disabilities.

Grupo Social ONCE and IE University have signed an agreement to provide training for people with disabilities, encouraging their incorporation into the business world, strengthening their entrepreneurial and innovative profile, facilitating accessibility on campus and developing socially responsible hiring policies. The agreement was signed at Torre ILUNION at a meeting chaired by Alejandro Oñoro, Consejero Delegado of ILUNION and Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, President of IE University.

The signatories were Ángel Sánchez, General Director of ONCE; Alberto Durán, Executive Vice President of Fundación ONCE; Alejandro Oñoro, Consejero Delegado of ILUNION and General Counsel of the General Council of ONCE; Salvador Carmona, Rector of IE University; and Gonzalo Garland, Vice President of IE Fundation and Vice President of Strategic Global Partnerships at IE University.

Alejandro Oñoro expressed his satisfaction at garnering another important ally such as IE University to improve the educational, labor and social inclusion of people with disabilities, noting: “IE University will accompany us by providing education as part of our initiatives to improve the training and employability of people with disabilities.”

“It is a privilege to work with Grupo Social ONCE, learn from its experience, join forces to train the best talent and contribute to the incorporation of people with disabilities in the labor market. We work every day to promote positive change and this project undoubtedly reinforces our mission in society,” added Gonzalo Garland, Vice President of IE Fundation.

Opportunity for Talent Scholarship Program

IE University will develop responsible hiring policies and awareness initiatives to improve access into business for people with disabilities. In addition, it will advise the ONCE Social Group on promoting entrepreneurship, creating startups and how people with disabilities can launch social innovation initiatives.

The two institutions will also set up the ONCE Foundation and IE Foundation Scholarship, within the ‘Opportunity for Talent’ program, to study a Master’s program at IE University.
