Madrid, Spain, December 10, 2024 – A new opportunity has emerged for young Cameroonian leaders, as the IE Foundation, thanks to the generous support of Bernard Dallé, officially unveiled the IE – Dallé Family Scholarships for Misongi Scholars.

The program is designed to empower students from Cameroon with outstanding academic and personal profiles, a strong commitment to their home country, and significant financial need. This initiative marks a pivotal step in nurturing a new generation of leaders who will leverage their education to drive positive change in Cameroon.

The scholarship was officially established on November 22, 2024, when longtime investor and operating partner of a multi-stage venture capital firm Bernard Dallé joined Gonzalo Garland, Executive Vice-President of IE Foundation, and Geoffroy Gérard, its Director General, at the IE Tower in Madrid to formalize this installment. The collaboration underscores the shared commitment of the Dallé Family and IE Foundation to fostering global talent and leadership, while championing social impact.

A Shared Vision for Cameroonian Excellence

The scholarship builds on the work of Misongi, an organization dedicated to identifying and supporting promising Cameroonian students. On October 22, 2024, Onyekachi Eke, Director of IE’s West Africa Region Office, met with Veronique Hob-Hob, Founder and Director of Misongi, in Yaoundé. During this visit, Eke hosted an information session for Misongi scholars, providing insights into the world-class education at IE University. This engagement not only highlighted the exceptional quality of the scholars but also strengthened ties between IE and Misongi, laying the groundwork for a transformative collaboration.

Scholarship Details: Investing in the Future

The IE – Dallé Family Scholarships will initially support 1 Cameroonian scholar per academic year, offering 100% coverage of tuition fees for a Bachelor’s program at IE University, along with a living expenses package. Recipients must have already received admission into Misongi, demonstrate academic excellence, possess leadership potential, and share a vision for making a lasting impact in Africa. By removing financial barriers, the scholarship aims to create a pathway for students to focus entirely on their academic and professional growth. Recipients are expected to return to Cameroon or any African Country in the future, equipped with knowledge, skills and experience to address local challenges and contribute to the country’s sustainable development.
