Sci-Tech Dean Signs Agreement with ServiZurich
The collaboration will open job and internship opportunities for students and alumni to work in technology and the insurance sector.
Ikhlaq Sidhu, Dean of IE School of Science and Technology signed a collaboration agreement with ServiZurich, establishing joint bases and working lines for IE students and alumni to connect with the company.
The agreement enables students and alumni to work in the Technology Delivery Center, which is part of the Zurich Insurance Group focusing on data business intelligence, engineering technologies, automation and transformation, as well as digital UI, UX and CX to provide solutions for business units.
Alvaro de Nicolas Izquierdo, Head of Zurich Technology Capability Centers signed the agreement and explained the company’s scope of work.
“We are involved in everything that is data, big data, AI. We’re insurance, so remember we’re behind the blinds and behind the commerce,” he said.
De Nicolas Izquierdo said that ServiZurich also provides platforms and infrastructure to Zurich Insurance’s business units.
In the singing, Sidhu talked about the insurance industry amid challenges such as climate change, highlighting the need for solutions which ServiZurich works towards in its Technology Delivery Center.
“It’s a pretty big scope. We’re going to have a project, which is sponsored separately, where we’re going to try to understand how climate change is going to affect insurance,” he said. “It’s going to affect consumer behavior, it’s going to affect migration patterns, affect the cost to healthcare in different places. I think it’s definitely a future topic.”
