IE University launches COVID Support Office to provide students with individual support during pandemic
The IE University COVID Support Office has been created to support students who, because of health reasons, cannot come to campus during the pandemic.
The COVID Support Office provides academic, technological, and individual attention to affected students. The team works closely with the medical team, which is in turn responsible for monitoring the health status of all students, faculty, and staff who want to access campus, for preventing infections and detecting possible cases on campus.
“If our medical team detects a case of COVID, they inform the health authorities and identify the close contacts on campus. Individuals who do not receive this notification can move about and access campus normally,” said Salvador Carmona, Rector of IE University.

Among other services, the medical team whether a student can isolate or quarantine in their current residence and advises on the best option for each case. The COVID Support Office team provides individualized attention to these students and their families, helps them with whatever services they might need, follows up with the medical team, and coordinates academic requests with Program Management so that students can continue with their training as their health allow.
“We are in continual contact with the families to provide them with information on the situation and the evolution of confirmed cases and close contacts, always in coordination with the health services. Our goal is to protect everyone’s health and to avoid contagion on campus,” added Carmona.
