The Program

The Master in International Relations (MIR) at the IE School of International Relations is designed to be a truly transformative program, which provides students the education, training, and first-hand experience necessary for successful international careers. We aim to train internationally-oriented professionals for excellence, achievement, and leadership in an increasingly complex and multipolar world.

The MIR curriculum both encompasses and transcends traditional distinctions between the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Students will take courses from selected IE professors with wide-ranging experience in academia, policy research, non-profit management, and private enterprise. As well, students will participate in international projects that require the cooperation of both public and private actors, and which involve non-governmental and civil society organizations as crucial partners.

The program provides students a strong academic foundation, complemented with on the ground field research, in European Union processes and governance. In addition, we offer substantive training in regional dynamics ranging from Latin America, to the Middle East, to contemporary China. This global academic focus is consistent with our uniquely diverse faculty and student body, which include members from across the globe.

The IE School of International Relations is an Affiliate Member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA), which serves as an active platform for the exchange of valuable expertise in the international arena.
