The IE Admissions Department’s rigorous selection process includes the Admissions Test.
This test seeks to find the most suitable candidates for our programs by measuring different skill sets. Our Admissions Process takes on a holistic approach when evaluating each application in order to bring the most talented people into our diverse classrooms.
Depending on the program of choice, you may take our IE Global Admissions Test (ieGAT), or you can submit your scores from the GMAT, GRE, CFA, or CAIA. We encourage you to visit the Admissions Section of the program of your choice for further details and Admission Test requirements.
Please consider that not all programs ask for a test, others may accept more than one, while others have a specific test requirement.
*Please note, the ieGAT is one of the various steps in the application process but it does not offer a graded score. Therefore applicants may continue with the next steps of the application process without interruption.
To be able to sit the ieGAT you must have started your online application, including the payment of the application fee.
The exam consists of multiple tasks adapted to the program to which you are applying. Some of the skills tested include applied numeracy, verbal and numerical comprehension and reasoning as well as logical abstract reasoning.
Please note that the examples do not represent all tests included in the ieGAT.
The numerical questions assess quantitative reasoning and mastery of basic mathematical calculations.
The verbal reasoning questions assess verbal comprehension and the ability to distinguish information of greatest importance.
The logical abstract reasoning questions measure the ability to discover complex rules and interactions and the ability to draw conclusions from abstract problems.
The ieGAT is an important step in the application process, and we offer you flexibility to take this exam online–so it is on your terms and when you’re ready. Here are some helpful tips to consider and important information to know before taking the ieGAT.
