Enrique Cortes

Professor Cortes studied management research at Harvard University-RCC, and took an international academic program at Harvard University in partnership with the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

He has conducted research at Columbia, MIT, Northeastern, Harvard and the University of Edinburgh. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from ICADE.

He is a professor of strategy and entrepreneurial management at IE Business School. Enrique has taught internationally and has authored the book The Strategic Challenges of Success, in addition to several academic papers.

He has spoken at the Academic Series at Harvard, where he conducted research from 2009 to 2016. He has taught and advised over 3000 executives and top managers from 55 different countries.

He started his professional career at Barklay’s Bank and Elosúa Group before he went on to become an entrepreneur and professor. Currently, he is a top management strategic advisor and president of the Instituto para el Liderazgo Estratégico de España.

Enrique has been recognized for his outstanding work, winning the Best Paper Award at the EURAM congress in 2014, as well as more than 10 official acknowledgements for excellence in executive education teaching at IE Business School. He was named best professor in strategy in 2015 for his work in the Executive MBA program, and best professor in IE Business School’s master in corporate communication in 2017.
