The program. Presentation. The Master in Immersive Des is divided into four parts: The Start-Up Bootcamp, an optional preliminary course designed to lay the groundwork for the program. Term 1 — Hybrid Experience : Students explore the intersection of physical and digital design through creative coding, tangible interfaces, and XR to build immersive, hybrid experiences. Term 2 — Virtual Narratives : Students design immersive virtual environments using narrative, sound, and interaction to create emotionally resonant experiences. Term 3 — Design Futures : Students develop a thesis project supported by advanced modules in UX, AI, immersive environments, spatial media, and team leadership to showcase their creative vision and technical mastery.
Periods. Start-up Bootcamp. START-UP BOOTCAMP. The optional Preliminary Course is designed to lay the groundwork for the program, providing students with fundamental skills essential for videogame design. This section includes Software Basics, Projective Geometry, Coding Fundamentals, 3D Modeling and Introduction to Photoshop & Illustrator.. First term. FIRST TERM (September - December). Students explore how physical and digital worlds merge through creative technology and interaction design. Alongside transversal modules in creativity, communication, and materials, they develop hybrid interfaces and spatial experiences in their first design studio.. Subjects. METHODOLOGIES FOR CREATIVITY - 3 ECTS. Techniques and approaches to foster innovative thinking.. GRAPHIC COMMUNICATION SKILLS - 3 ECTS. Developing the ability to effectively convey ideas through visual media.. MATERIALS AND METHODS - 3 ECTS. An exploration of the materials and techniques used in contemporary design.. PRESENTATION SKILLS - 3 ECTS. Enhancing the ability to present design ideas convincingly.. DESIGN STUDIO 1: Hybrid Experience. Our design pedagogy integrates a range of technical and artistic courses into a single, project-based studio. Here, we explore the design and construction of virtual and hybrid environments. Elements of this studio course include:. HUMAN COMPUTER INTERACTION (HCI) - 2 ECTS. Exploring how users engage with digital systems to design intuitive, meaningful, and responsive interactive experiences.. CREATIVE CODING - 2 ECTS. Exploring programming techniques to develop immersive, interactive and innovative experiences within virtual environments.. RAPID PROTOTYPING - 1 ECTS. Learn fast, iterative methods to test and develop interactive design concepts using physical and digital tools.. TANGIBLE USER INTERFACES - 2 ECTS. Design physical-digital systems where users interact through objects, materials, and spatial gestures.. EXTENDED REALITIES (XR) - 3 ECTS. Explore immersive technologies—including VR, AR, and MR—to design engaging spatial experiences.. Second Term. SECOND TERM ( January - March). This term focuses on immersive storytelling, sound, play, and narrative systems. Students design emotionally resonant experiences across virtual spaces while developing research skills to prepare for their thesis.. Subjects. DESIGN FOR SOCIAL IMPACT - 3 ECTS. Understanding how design can drive positive social change.. THE BUSINESS OF DESIGN - 3 ECTS. Focusing on the business acumen necessary for successful design practices.. DESIGN RESEARCH METHODS - 4 ECTS. Pre-thesis Equipping students with the tools to conduct thorough and effective design research.. Design Studio 2: Virtual Narratives. This studio challenges students to design emotionally resonant virtual experiences through narrative systems, worldbuilding, and interaction. Bridging sound, motion, and spatial storytelling, it explores how immersive narratives can shape perception, engagement, and meaning. Subjects of this studio course include:. SYSTEMS OF PLAY - 3 ECTS. Examine the mechanics, dynamics, and cultural role of play as a framework for designing engaging and interactive experiences.. WORLD BUILDING - 2 ECTS. Learn to construct coherent, multisensory narrative universes that support immersion, storytelling, and user agency.. INTERACTIVE NARRATIVES - 2 ECTS. Explore non-linear storytelling and user-driven structures to design compelling, responsive narrative experiences.. EDITING AND MOTION GRAPHICS - 2 ECTS. Develop visual storytelling skills through video editing, animation, and time-based media for immersive contexts.. SOUND DESIGN AND SOUNDSCAPING - 2 ETCS. Create immersive atmospheres and emotional depth through spatial audio, sound textures, and sonic storytelling.. TRANSFORMATIVE PLAY - 1 ECTS. Investigate how play can drive behavioral change, learning, and social engagement across non-entertainment contexts.. Third TERM. THIRD TERM (April - July). In the final term, students develop their individual thesis project while deepening their skills through advanced labs in immersive media, AI, and experience design. The focus is on refining a unique vision and building a professional portfolio that showcases creative and technical excellence.. Subjects. MANAGING TEAMS AND PROCESSES - 2 ECTS. Learn to lead creative projects with effective team coordination, planning, and strategic decision-making.. GAMIFICATION - 3 ECTS.
