Lead the development and optimization of payment products, from idea to launch. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure, API-driven, and scalable payment infrastructures, leveraging data insights, user behavior, and emerging technologies to shape producto strategy.

Identify and manage strategic partnerships with fintechs, banks, and technology providers. You’ll explore integration opportunities (APIs, embedded finance, BaaS), negotiate agreements, and ensure partnerships accelerate innovation and platform growth.

Advise clients on designing and implementing tailored payment solutions. Combining technical expertise with industry knowledge, you’ll architect end-to-end payment flows, optimize processing performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and bridge business requirements with technical implementation.

Analyze and monitor financial risks, including credit, market, and liquidity risk. You’ll apply quantitative models, statistical tools, and data analytics to generate insights, support decision-making, and enhance risk forecasting and mitigation strategies.

Detect and prevent fraud and financial crime using advanced analytics and transaction monitoring systems. You’ll leverage data models, anomaly detection techniques, and real-time alerts to identify suspicious activity and strengthen fraud prevention frameworks.

Leverage technology to support regulatory compliance and risk management. You’ll work with RegTech platforms, automation tools, and data reporting systems to monitor regulatory changes, implement compliance frameworks, and streamline audit and reporting processes.

Explore blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, and digital asset ecosystems. You’ll analyze on-chain data, smart contracts, and DeFi protocols, assess risks, and support the integration of blockchain-based solutions into financial services.

Design and deploy AI and machine learning models to tackle challenges such as fraud detection, credit scoring, and personalization. You’ll work with large-scale datasets, build and optimize predictive models, and deploy them in production using scalable, compliant, and explainable AI frameworks.

As a Global Partner with Berkeley SCET, IE enables up to 10 students per year to enroll in the Startup Semester, a full-time program for international students seeking a comprehensive entrepreneurial experience. Participants can choose from two tailored tracks to support their unique professional goals:

• Venture Discovery Track: Ideal for students eager to explore and develop new ventures. This track requires a minimum of 8 credits from SCET courses as part of a 12-credit semester load, and students will need an F1 student visa.
• Venture Validation Track: Designed for students who already have a developed project and are looking to accelerate growth. This track involves 7 credits with SCET out of a total 9-credit load, with participants attending on a J1 visa.

This program not only provides an intensive learning experience but also awards an official certificate from UC Berkeley, enhancing your credentials with practical, real-world skills in entrepreneurship.

For students who are further along in their entrepreneurial journey, the Summer Venture Lab is an immersive six-week program that offers personalized mentorship and hands-on experience in venture acceleration. 

This summer opportunity is particularly suited for those with established projects, aiming to refine and scale their startups.

The program is held during Berkeley Summer Sessions (late May to early June) and includes options for campus housing.
