Madrid, 27 May 2025 – IE School of Architecture and Design has announced the winners of "Harvest 25", the debut runway show by students of the Bachelor in Fashion Design. The show marked the culmination of a semester-long creative journey within the course Introduction to Fashion Design 2, led by professors Evangelina Julia and Ernesto Naranjo.

The event showcased each student’s conceptual research, material experimentation, and design execution—revealing fashion’s power to tell stories, challenge conventions, and explore identity. The presentation featured a dynamic runway show alongside a portfolio showroom, allowing students to exhibit both the creative vision and technical craftsmanship behind their work. Each portfolio included up to 100 experimental silhouettes, textile swatches, 3D explorations, and ephemeral shop concepts.

The winners were selected by a distinguished jury of fashion industry leaders: Edward Cuming, fashion designer renowned for emotionally expressive and sophisticated menswear; Águeda Amiano Vergara, director at Pelonio, a fashion and culture agency supporting emerging designers and curating creative platforms globally; Rubén Gómez, creative director of EGO, the emerging designer platform at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid and a passionate advocate for sustainable fashion; and Eva Pinilla, fashion designer at Pyratex, where she leads innovation in bio-based textiles and sustainable production.

Reflecting on the importance of the event, Inés Quezada, Academic Director of the Bachelor in Fashion Design at IE University, shared:

"Harvest 25 is almost a rite of passage. It marks the moment our students transition from learners to designers with a voice. Through this platform, they engage with the real world while developing collections that are intellectually rigorous and emotionally resonant. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, bravery, and purpose our students have shown."

The awarded students—Candela Hernández, Isabel Guerra Bradley, and Agustina Tolosa Picasso—presented pieces that captivated both audience and jury with their originality, technical precision, and compelling narratives. As part of their award, these students will now have the opportunity to collaboratively design a limited-edition hoodie for the IE Store, produced in collaboration with Pyratex and crafted with sustainable materials.

In addition, Candela Hernández was awarded a full scholarship to the upcoming "IE Summer Course in Fashion Styling and Media", a two-week program that immerses students in fashion communication, image-making, and visual storytelling. Her collection, a provocative exploration of social class dynamics through the lens of railway workers, stood out for its symbolism and critical narrative. One look depicted a high-ranking officer in pristine, non-functional attire, while the other portrayed a disillusioned worker, shedding his manipulated identity through raw garments and puppet-like strings.

Isabel Guerra Bradley's collection, "Jazz: Chaos and Harmony", offered a visual interpretation of the genre’s history and structure-defying energy, channeling movement, sound, and spontaneity into fashion form. Agustina Tolosa Picasso drew inspiration from the world’s Blue Zones—regions known for longevity and well-being—to create garments that promote intentional living. Her designs fused color, form, and concept into a wearable philosophy of health and purpose.

As additional recognition, all participants of "Harvest 25" received a partial scholarship to attend the "IE Summer Course in Fashion Styling and Media". This gesture underscores the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of future leaders in the fashion industry, empowering students not only with skills but also with access to transformative experiences.
