Careers in Context: Sergio Alvarez-Teleña

As part of the Careers in Context Speaker Series, the School of Humanities welcomed Dr. Sergio Alvarez-Teleña to share his professional journey with Bachelor in Humanities students. With over two decades of experience in data science, AI, and innovation — including leadership roles at BBVA, Oliver Wyman, and the OECD — Dr. Alvarez-Teleña is also the founder of SciTheWorld, a company dedicated to applying advanced analytics to real-world challenges.

He encouraged students to ask unconventional questions and challenge assumptions — a reminder that the curiosity and critical thinking central to the Humanities are essential drivers of innovation across all fields.
