Exploring IE University’s Historic Campus in Segovia with Miguel Larrañaga (Vice-Rector for Student Affairs at IE University)

Students from the IE School of Humanities were invited to discover the historic Segovia campus through a guided tour led by Miguel Larrañaga Zulueta, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Director of the Antiquity & Middle Ages Research Center. The tour provided an opportunity to reflect on the deep cultural and historical roots of the university.

The visit began at the Aula Magna, originally a 15th-century church, now serving as a central academic space and a powerful symbol of the university's connection to its past. The group then explored the Santo Domingo Cave, a site with spiritual significance and historical ties to the Dominican order. Both locations sparked meaningful conversations about the role of history in shaping the academic and cultural identity of IE University.

More than just a campus tour, this experience encouraged students to engage with the university’s legacy and consider how its architectural and historical elements continue to influence the IE community today.
