IE School of Humanities signs agreement with Museu de Arte de São Paulo to advance art history education
The collaboration agreement has been announced in an event co-hosted by IE School of Humanities and IE Brazil Office at the MASP in São Paulo.
IE School of Humanities and Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP), one of Latin America’s most prestigious cultural institutions, have signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between the two organizations. This strategic partnership strengthens IE School of Humanities’ global engagement, expanding its ties with leading cultural institutions worldwide.
The agreement has been announced in an event co-hosted by IE School of Humanities and IE Brazil Office at the MASP in São Paulo. This launch event was attended by Sophia Sampaio, Executive Director of the School, and marks the first step toward additional on-site activities, exhibitions, academic collaborations, and public programming.
Among the core initiatives of the agreement, MASP will design and deliver an innovative online course taught in English and made available in the Bachelor in Humanities programs at IE University. The course will explore the intersections of technology, art history and environmental perspectives, reflecting both institutions’ commitment to interdisciplinary education and contemporary cultural debates.
Both the museum and the academic institution will also develop an Art History curriculum collaboration. The agreement will support joint academic work within the Bachelor in Humanities and the Dual Degree in Business Administration & Humanities, integrating MASP’s collections and curatorial expertise into teaching and research.
"We are very glad to inaugurate this new partnership with the IE School of Humanities, which will allow IE students to access courses that explore the intersection of Art and Innovation, organized by the educational department at the Museum", said Carolina Rossetti, Director of Institutional Relations at MASP.
"This collaboration with MASP allows us to reinforce our commitment to the transformative power of art and the humanities. We are excited to build bridges across cultures and geographies to bring our students closer to one of the most influential cultural institutions in Latin America to inspire, challenge, and broaden our view of the world", added Catalina Tejero, Dean of IE School of Humanities.
