Women leaders converge at IE School of Humanities to discuss the forces shaping the art world
Coinciding with the event, the School launched the second digital exhibition in its ongoing collaboration with the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza.
IE School of Humanities, in collaboration with the IE Arts & Business Club, hosted a panel discussion exploring the intersections between museums, the global art market, art collecting, and cultural leadership.
The discussion explored how curatorial practices, auction house dynamics, and institutional strategies shape today's changing art ecosystem, bringing together prominent voices from major cultural institutions and the global art world. In the context of Women's Month, it also examined the role and visibility of women in the arts and highlighted a variety of career paths.
The panel featured Catalina Tejero, Dean of IE School of Humanities; Beatriz Ordovás, International Senior Director and Head of Post-War and Contemporary Iberia at Christie’s Auction House; and Clara Marcellán, Curator of Modern Painting at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. Moderated by Stella Campoli, President of the Arts & Business Club, the discussion also explored topics such as arts patronage and philanthropy.
Coinciding with the event, IE School of Humanities also launched the second digital exhibition in its ongoing collaboration with the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. Titled Pioneering Abstraction: Natalia Goncharova’s Modern Art, the exhibition uses digital technology to bring the museum experience to campus.
Displayed on the large-scale screen in IE Tower’s lobby, it forms part of a four-part program running from 2025 to 2027, aligning artworks from the museum’s collection with key moments in the academic calendar and strengthening the connection between art, innovation, and academic life.
