- Theatre In Action: A Modern Adaptation Of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest
In a celebration of student artistry and cultural expression, IE Theatre Society staged a contemporary adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s beloved comedy The Importance of Being Earnest at the renowned Teatro Tribueñe in Madrid, Spain. The event was co-hosted by IE School of Humanities in collaboration with IE Campus Life and IE Foundation.
Directed by Fiona Conlon, the production reimagined Wilde’s sharp social commentary through a modern lens, while staying true to the wit and charm of the original. A cast and crew comprised entirely of IE students brought the story to life with exceptional energy, professionalism, and flair. The performance drew a full house and received widespread acclaim for its inventive direction, engaging performances, and high production values.
