Tiermes Archaeological Student Trip

Our first-year students from the Bachelor in Humanities and the Dual Degree in Business Administration and Humanities embarked on an academic journey to Tiermes, an ancient archaeological site in the province of Soria, Spain. The visit offered a unique opportunity to step into the world of Iberian and Roman civilizations, exploring ruins that bring classroom learning to life through tangible historical evidence.

Led by the IE Antiquities and Middle Ages Research Center, the trip combined fieldwork, cultural exploration, and historical inquiry. Students gained hands-on experience with archaeological interpretation and developed a deeper appreciation for cultural heritage preservation. This immersive experience reinforced the value of contextual learning and strengthened the connection between academic study and real-world understanding of the past.
