An immersive educational field trip took students from the IE School of Humanities, including those from the Bachelor in Humanities and the Dual Degree in Business Administration and Humanities, to the La Jericó Roman site in Herrera de Pisuerga, Palencia (Spain). This site, rich in Roman archaeological remains, provided the ideal setting for students to experience the intersection of ancient history and modern digital methods.
The visit was part of Professor Susana Torres’s Introduction to Digital Humanities course and was organized by the Antiquity & Middle Ages Research Centre at IE University. It highlighted innovative approaches in archaeology, from excavation techniques to heritage technologies, offering a hands-on learning experience that reinforced the school’s commitment to experiential and multidisciplinary education.
