The 4th Edition of the Young Corporate Program: Our partner companies give exclusive “Company Insight” presentations to IE students
The 4th edition of the Young Corporate Program at IE University partnered with 42 companies to give 389 students an idea of their corporate culture.
This four-year innovative program offers ambitious bachelor’s students a tailor-made professional experience with a specific company that spans several periods of their degree. The program is also quite selective, as the initial pre-selection phase includes various requirements from IE’s most competitive, committed, and creative undergrads.
Throughout the program, students aim to gain professional experience at a specific company, alongside their studies at IE. Each year brings a series of activities to students, such as mentoring, shadowing, internship opportunities, and more!
During the first year of the program, students immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a specific company, also known as the “Company Insights” phase. They participate in activities, such as engaging company presentations, aimed at providing them with an understanding of the work-life environment and how the companies function internally.
Students extend their learning through on-campus visits, online sessions, and off-campus office visits, offering direct interactions with industry leaders.
On-Campus Company Insights
For instance, this past month, Deloitte was welcomed at IE Tower for an exclusive presentation on the company. Students who were present gained valuable insights into specific skills and future career opportunities in the consulting area.
Similarly, students were invited to attend a company presentation hosted by DXC Technology, earlier this year. They talked about the current impact of Artificial Intelligence and discussed its potential implications for the future.
To conclude both visits, students engaged in networking sessions and were given more relevant information on the companies by both Deloitte’s and DXC Technology’s teams.
Online Company Insight
Taking place online, pharmaceutical manufacturer Organon offered students a company insight session. They went over the work environment and key values, showcasing the professional growth opportunities for students in their careers.
In-Office Company Insight
Other companies, such as Divilo, invited students from the program to meet the team and explore the office environment. Representatives at the company discussed their perspectives on the fintech sector and the startup landscape, while students asked questions regarding the topics, for example, “what are the steps to funding a startup?”
“It was a privilege to be able to share my experiences in Divilo with the students who are currently studying at IE University and who are undoubtedly the future.”
Juan Guruceta, Divilo’s Founder
Signify’s HR team also invited 9 students from IE to visit their office and give them an overview of the company and its mission, vision, and core values. Students who were present spent the day under the company’s technical team, who discussed the history of light, sharing the importance of illumination and its impact on everyone’s lives. Towards the end of the session, students were able to network with the company’s employees and learn about career opportunities.
15 students were hosted at Farlabo’s office, bringing the beauty and luxury sector closer to young students. Students met professionals from Farlabo and discussed the company’s role in the perfume distribution industry, as well as the projects that the brand carries out.
Palladium Hotel Group Company Insight at their office
Palladium Hotel Group, SGS, Futuro Perfecto, and OHLA, were a few other partner companies that welcomed students to tour around their offices in Madrid, where company representatives shared their expertise on each respective sector.
“I am proud that we are the first hotel chain to participate in this fourth edition of the program. We started a collaboration, and I am sure that it will be a great step that we will take together.” Laura López Añez, Corporate Talent Acquisition and Recruitment Manager at Palladium Hotel Group
Office Visits in the Legal Sector
A select group of IE students were invited to tour around the Garrigues office in Madrid. Garrigues representatives highlighted the firm’s values, its departments, and outlines the reasons for the firm’s strong presence in the legal sphere both in Spain and internationally. They also had the chance to participate in an enriching debate about a legal case study.
The visit to Perez-Llorca’s office provided a comprehensive overview of their innovative approaches to legal practices, strategic initiatives, and valued skills. This allowed students to understand firsthand how the firm operates and learned about available opportunities for students, including internships, courses, and shadowing programs.
“Their passion for nurturing talent and driving innovation within the legal sector was truly inspiring.”
Clara Lema, Young Corporate Program candidate, referring to Perez-Llorca company visit
Linklaters Company Insight at their office
Similarly, Linklaters and Clifford Chance invited a total of 17 students in the Young Corporate Program to visit the company at their office. Students were provided with insights into the dynamic world of legal careers and various facets of professional life at the company. Not only did representatives share their personal experiences, day-to-day routines, and challenges, but students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain firsthand knowledge.
14 students were invited to the Squire Patton Boggs and Latham & Watkins offices for company presentations. Students met and talked with brilliant professionals, from both teams, gaining a fascinating insight into the legal world. This offered students an exclusive opportunity to showcase their profiles and values directly to Squire Patton Boggs and Latham & Watkins.
“The experience was very enriching; it was inspiring to see how they combine their deep knowledge with a genuine passion for their work.”
Adela Casado, Young Corporate Program candidate, referring to Squire Patton Boggs company visit
Corporate visits serve as essential bridges between academic learning and the real-world scene. This program provides students with insights into professional environments, creating a deeper understanding of the organization and structure of companies. Through hands-on experiences and interactions with professionals, students gain practical knowledge and develop key skills for their future careers.
Additional participating companies, this 4th edition, include Allen & Overy, AWWG, Bancolombia, BAT, Chalhoub Group, Clifford Chance, CogniFit, Cycle Platform, Decathlon, Eversheds Sutherland, Grupo Tejedor Lazaro, Hogan Lovells, Howden, King & Wood Mallesons, KPMG, Legal Control Abogados & Consultores, MMMM (Monereo Meyer Abogados), Neovantas Consulting, Scale Up Partner, Telefonica, Tinkle, United Way, Uria Menendez, and You First.
The Young Corporate Program has increased the number of partner companies and select students as new editions take place. This shows the strong interest from both the students’ and the companies’ side to get to know each other- for companies to introduce themselves to the newer generation, and for students to see firsthand the realities of the corporate world.
