New Job

HOW DID THIS JOB FIT INTO YOUR CAREER STRATEGY?

HOW DID YOU FOUND THIS OPPORTUNITY?

HOW DID TALENT&CAREERS HELP YOU?

"I am from Argentina, so I previously work in Buenos Aires at SAP. The role I had at SAP was a back-office role as Revenue Expert. This job wasn’t fulfilling enough but I didn´t know who to change my career path. That is when, I decided to come to Madrid and pursue my MBA at IE."

"I have joined BP in January 2020 to take part of the company’s Challenge Programme. I am based in Madrid, Spain and the position currently have is Pricing Analyst.

The Challenge Programme is the best professional opportunity I had ever had. It is a program inside BP that can last between 3 to 5 years where you do between 2 and 3 rotations through different areas. This program is designed to give you exposure to multiple disciplines and develop you for future success at BP."

"For me, it was life changing and thanks to it, I made a huge change in my career path. I didn’t only change location and company but also industry and job type."

"I found about this opportunity through the Career Portal."

"After I applied, the T&C department contacted me because there was a company presentation at IE about this program. I attended and was able to get the HR’s LinkedIn contact.

When I started with the interviews, I talked to my advisor Raquel Rolo Gonzalez. She helped me throughout the whole process, from sending me information about how to prepare for my competency-based interview, to scheduling me a mock interview with ilovetobe to prepare for my technical interview."

TIPS FROM ANA TO APPLY FOR THE PROGRAM

Understand the company

Read and inform yourself about the company and the context the industry is in. Use the tools, T&C provides you, the mock interview is a great resource that tests you and helps you prepare.

Define a clear added-value that you can bring to the program

Be honest and don’t show off, just show them how much you want to work there and why. I think that is the most important thing.

Prepare yourself

BP really likes recruiting people from our university, so you are off to a good start, take advantage of it. The process is long and exhausting, I am not going to lie, but if you dedicate time, practice and prepare you will nail it.

ANA'S RECRUITING PROCCESS

The process was very long and challenging so I decided to focus only in this process while it lasted. After I applied through the portal I got and email to make an online test about numerical and logical reasoning. The second step was a telephone competency-based interview with someone from London. Only after this, you start talking with Spain’s HR department. I went to the offices where I had a technical interview with 3 people. This interview was the hardest one. They tell you about a hypothetical situation and you have to tell them what you would do, the challenges, the advantages and so on. Finally, the last interview is a group activity and an individual presentation in front of a board of 9 people.
