The process involves completing required elements of the application, including the Online Assessment and, if applicable for your program, the IE Global Admissions Test. A non-refundable €150 application fee is required to access these assessments and submit your application.
Below is a step-by-step overview to guide you through the process.

If you are an IE University alum, please use your existing IE University email. This helps us track your relationship with us and ensures we can apply any eligible benefits.
Complete your application on our online platform. Here, you can manage all key stages in one place, from uploading required documentation to accessing the Online Assessment and ieGAT. You can freely move between sections, save your progress and check your completion status at any time.
Preparing your application materials carefully helps ensure a smooth admissions process, and we want to make it as straightforward as possible. Below, you’ll find the general documentation requirements.
Some programs may request additional materials, so we recommend checking your program’s webpage or reaching out to a Program Specialist for details specific to your application.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Your CV gives the Admissions Committee a fuller picture of your academic background, professional experience and achievements. We recommend keeping it to one or two pages in reverse chronological order, with clear descriptions of your responsibilities and the impact of your work.
If you need help getting started, use our suggested CV template.
English proficiency
All programs delivered in English require a high level of proficiency. We accept the following minimum test scores:
- IELTS: 7.0
- TOEFL: 100 / 5.0
- Cambridge: Advanced
- Duolingo: 130
You may not need to submit a test if you:
- Are a native English speaker
- Completed your undergraduate degree in English
- Have lived and worked in an English-speaking country for two or more years
- Have extensive professional experience in English
Please be aware that the Admissions Committee reserves the right to request a certificate, even if you meet one or more of the exception requirements above.
Academic transcripts and diploma
Please submit your bachelor’s degree transcripts and diploma, or their equivalent. If you’re still completing your degree, your most recent transcripts are fine. Unofficial copies are accepted at this stage of the process.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
- Documents should include courses, grades and grading scale
- A certified translation is required if your documents are not in English or Spanish
- Final official documents may be requested once you receive an admission offer
Additional documentation
Some programs may require extra material, such as a portfolio of creative works. We recommend always checking your program's specific requirements before starting your application.
If selected, you will be invited to an interview with a member of the Admissions Team.
Once you have completed the admissions process, the Admissions Committee will conduct a holistic evaluation of your case, including your academic and professional background, admissions test results, online assessment, personal interview outcomes and general alignment with IE University’s values.
You will then receive the Committee’s final decision via email, typically within a week of completing the admissions process. If accepted, you will receive additional information on completing the enrollment process. You’ll also be welcomed into the IE University community!
Note that placement in our master's programs is limited. If admitted, your admissions email will specify the deadline for securing your seat. After that date, your seat will become subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis.
