Personal Interview

What is the personal interview?

Once your application has been reviewed, you will be notified if you meet the program’s requirements and invited to the final stage of the admissions process: a personal interview.

This 30-minute conversation is a key moment in our holistic evaluation. It allows our Admissions Managers to better understand your experiences, profile, motivations and aspirations beyond your application.

The interview includes a mix of behavioral and reflective questions designed to assess your readiness for the program and your potential to contribute to the IE Community.

Below are our tips to help you approach the personal interview with confidence.

Tips for a successful interview

  • A diverse group of people are attending a seminar, with a focus on a man in a white t-shirt sitting in the front.

    Seek to understand the program

    Demonstrate Measurable Impact

    Engage with Purpose

Treat the interview as a dialogue. Prepare two or three specific, well-informed questions about the program or university culture that only a personal conversation could answer.

    Communicate professionally

Present yourself with confidence and clarity. Keep your answers structured and concise, and maintain a professional tone and body language throughout. For virtual interviews, prioritize good lighting, eye contact and a distraction-free environment.
