Meinrad Spenger

Hi! I am Maini and I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer of MASMOVIL Group, the fourth Telecommunications Operator in Spain with more than 10,5 million customers, +1.000 employees and listed at the IBEX 35, the main spanish stock market. Market cap of 3.000M€.
I was born in a very nice place in the middle of Austria and I am based in Madrid for 15 years. I received a Law degree from the University of Graz, Austria, and continue my studies in the Italian University of Trieste. MBA at IE Business School 🙂 in Madrid and from the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan.
I have been consultant for McKinsey & Company for 5 years. In 2006, I created my own company, MASMOVIL, with full intention of challenging the three big market players in Spain by offering an attractive price product with the best customer care. My goal in life is being happy in my personal life as well as in my profesional activity. My objective as an entrepeneur is to keep Spain connected and to be the operator with the most positive social impact in Spain.

How did IE help you get to where you are today?

IE helped me to start my entrepeneur interest and finally to become and entrepeneur with my own company which has been my dream and I have been able to realize. All started here at IE!

Which are your three most notable achievements in your professional life?

1. To create my own Company and which is more difficult to make it sustainable.
2. To attract very talented people to our project which makes the difference and to create a strong and unique company culture without burocrazy after more than 10 acquisitions.
3. To mantain our only priority which is having the most satisfied customers of the spanish telecomms market.

Does success have a secret formula? If so, what is it?

For us the only way to achieve it is working very hard, pay attention only to what is important for our customers, the support of all the people who have been around us -shareholders, partners, etc- and why not, a little bit of good luck!
