More Women in the Boardroom

Organizations with female board members enjoy various benefits, ranging from better decision-making to tempering the overconfidence of male CEOs. In this infographic, Marc Goergen, Professor of Finance at IE Business School and Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), highlights some of the advantages of gender diversity in the boardroom. These insights are drawn from the study “Why female board representation matters: The role of female directors in reducing male CEO overconfidence,” by Goergen and colleagues. Organizations with greater boardroom diversity are stronger and perform better in complex environments and crisis situations.
