In an environment where law and finance are increasingly intertwined, understanding economic and financial fundamentals has become essential for accurately interpreting the business landscape, providing more sound advice and actively participating in corporate transactions. This program is specifically designed for legal professionals looking to acquire a rigorous, practical and applied understanding of financial language.
Over 10 sessions, participants will develop the skills necessary to analyze financial statements, understand the logic behind a company’s economic value, master the key concepts of capital structure and make informed decisions in valuation processes, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital market transactions.
The program will provide a practical, in-depth study of the three main financial statements, as well as the fundamental indicators used to assess a company’s financial health and understand its value creation. These include growth, EBITDA, operating cash flow, free cash flow, working capital, CAPEX and net debt.
Participants will also be introduced to key financial concepts such as the discount rate, the weighted average cost of capital (WACC), risk and opportunity cost. These elements are essential for understanding how the value of a company or a financial instrument is determined.
