IE University has announced the appointment of Rocío Bonet as Vice Dean of Faculty Growth and Development and of Konstantina Valogianni as Director of the Doctorate in Business Administration program to support the institutions’ ambitious Faculty and Research strategy.
In her new role, Rocío Bonet will be responsible for the recruitment, development, and evaluation of Faculty across IE University’s six schools: IE Business School, IE School of Science and Technology, IE Law School, IE School of Politics, Economics and Global Affairs, IE School of Architecture and Design, and IE School of Humanities.
Professor Bonet was previously Director of the Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program at IE University, where she has been teaching Human Resources Management since 2008. Her academic work lies at the intersection of personnel economics and strategic human capital and has been published in numerous academic journals. Professor Bonet has been awarded several research grants, including a Marie Curie grant from the European Commission and a fellowship from the GMAC association.
In close collaboration with the schools’ respective academic leaderships, Professor Bonet will also spearhead the development of new doctoral programs, supporting the institution’s mission to champion teaching and research excellence. In this mission, she will be supported by Konstantina Valogianni, newly appointed Director of the Doctorate in Business Administration program, who will ensure the program’s academic quality, strategic positioning, and smooth execution.
A professor of Information Systems at IE University since 2016, Konstantina Valogianni has received her Ph.D. from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research focuses on the use of Machine Learning to enable sustainable societies, with an emphasis on the design of intelligent algorithms to facilitate a better electric mobility integration in current smart grids. Professor Volagianni’s work has been featured in several academic journals and conferences such as the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), and the International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS).
“Rocío’s new role strengthens our long-term commitment to academic excellence, faculty development, and research impact. Under her leadership, we will ensure that hiring and evaluation across all IE schools are aligned with the institution’s strategic goals. Rocío’s contribution will be essential in shaping the next generation of scholars and propelling IE University toward becoming a leading center for academic research. As for our Doctorate in Business Administration, it remains a key pillar of our mission to bridge academic research and executive practice. Konstantina’s appointment reflects our commitment to offering a rigorous and flexible program tailored to the needs of working professionals. With her strong academic leadership and clear vision for impact, we are confident this program will become a benchmark in professional doctoral education”, said Juan Santaló, Vice-rector for Faculty and Research.
