This study examines the impact of age on crowdfunding success using 41,602 Indiegogo campaigns. Findings reveal a preference for younger entrepreneurs, though older entrepreneurs attract older backers. By distinguishing statistical and status-based discrimination, the study highlights how investment motives both mitigate and reinforce age-based biases in crowdfunding decisions.
