This study examines the cross-border diffusion of populist ideas, analyzing 923 parties in 67 countries (1970–2018). Findings show that similar political and economic exclusion levels facilitate populist emulation, moderated by cultural factors. Results contribute to understanding diffusion processes and the global spread of populism.
