Careers in Context Series with Sheila Cremaschi, Director of Hay Festival Segovia

Within the framework of the Careers in Context Series, students from the Bachelor in Humanities and the Dual Degree in Business Administration and Humanities took part in a session featuring Sheila Cremaschi, Director of the Hay Festival Segovia, and Ilze Barobs, Volunteer Coordinator.

The session explored the role of cultural festivals as global platforms for exchanging ideas, promoting dialogue, and creating lasting social impact.

Sheila Cremaschi shared her personal and professional journey—from launching Café Mozart in Buenos Aires to directing one of Spain’s most influential literary festivals, which drew over 60,000 attendees in 2024. She emphasized the value of culture, multilingualism, and freedom of expression, and encouraged students to view mistakes as essential learning experiences.

Ilze Barobs invited students to participate through volunteering, underlining the strong and ongoing collaboration between IE University and the Hay Festival.

This session in the Careers in Context Series highlighted how the humanities can open doors to meaningful, global career paths—inviting students to see cultural engagement as a powerful tool for fostering empathy and connection.
