Guided Visit to Max Ernst: Surrealism, Art and Cinema exhibition at Círculo de Bellas Artes, in Madrid

IE School of Humanities, in partnership with the IE Arts & Business Club, had the pleasure of visiting the exhibition Max Ernst: Surrealism, Art and Cinema—a compelling and immersive experience hosted at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

The event began with a warm welcome and private introduction by Valerio Rocco, Director of Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, who framed the exhibition within the broader context of surrealism and its influence on 20th-century visual culture.

The exhibition offered an expansive look into the world of Max Ernst, a key figure in the surrealist movement. Visitors were invited to explore Ernst’s fantastical imagination through collage, painting, sculpture, and experimental film, creating a dynamic dialogue between traditional art forms and cinematic innovation. The show illuminated how Ernst's work blurred the lines between media, challenging viewers to rethink the boundaries of artistic expression.
