Professional experience
Andrew Whitworth is a policy and regulatory expert specialising in financial technology. He is the founder of Global Policy LTD and Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence.
Formerly Andrew was the Policy Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at leading blockchain company Ripple, and before that was the Head of Policy at the payments fintech Curve.
Prior to that he worked at the Bank of England in its Prudential Policy, International, and Fintech directorates.
He started his career in Brussels working on EU tech and financial policy. He publishes and teaches on the international political economy of financial innovation.
Andrew holds a PhD from the Johns Hopkins University SAIS in Washington, DC, and undergraduate degree from the University of Oxford.
He is the author of Regulating banks: the politics of instability and How to understand MiCA: a policy guide.

Professional experience
Andrés Alonso Robisco joined Banco de España in 2019 as senior economist in the Financial Innovation Division where he analyses the latest trends in financial innovation.
Specifically, he studies the impact of machine learning and generative artificial intelligence in banking; and the role of technology in green finance, such as the use of satellite data.
Previously he worked as Senior Investment Officer in the Single Resolution Board (SRB), an agency of the European Commission, and beforehand, in the treasury and capital markets teams of Instituto de Credito Oficial (ICO), the Spanish financial agency.
He has published articles in several journals like Computational Economics, Finance Research Letters, Journal of Sustainable Finance & Investment, and International Review of Financial Analysis.
