Academic Advisors

WHAT IS AN ADVISOR?

IE University is committed to providing high-quality academic advising to help its students achieve educational objectives consistent with their career and life goals. An advisor is a professor who engages students in learning, promotes academic success and fosters intellectual and professional growth.

The role of the Advisor goes beyond the course and program schedule. Advisors can assist students with different aspects of the IE academic experience and provide information about campus resources and their future as professionals or practitioners.

COLLECTIVE AND INDIVIDUAL ADVISORS

COLLECTIVE ADVISORS: each section of 1st and 2nd year students are automatically assigned a collective advisor. This professor meets regularly with the group and provides guidance mostly on academic issues. The advisor will provide assistance on an individual basis if students request it.
INDIVIDUAL ADVISORS: mostly for senior students, i.e. who voluntarily wish to benefit from the support of an advisor on an individual basis. Generally, this professor provides guidance not only on academic issues, but also, on professional matters.
