Credit Recognition
Credit Recognition
SINGLE degree students who complete IEU extracurricular activities, such as, languages classes, labs, seminars, volunteer work or sports during their bachelor degree can recognize those activities to count towards their total number of required credits to graduate.
DUAL students cannot ask for credit recognition unless their application is authorized by the corresponding Bachelor Director. Please contact llb.pplemadrid@ie.edu if you want to recognize credits to graduate.
Once the student completes an activity, it will automatically appear in the Supplementary Training section of their transcript.
Later on, students will be able to recognize these activities to count as electives credits towards graduation. Students who will enroll in elective courses in the following academic year will receive an email from the Registrar’s Office when the time comes with the instructions to recognize them through the online recognition platform: https://ieu-recognition.ie.edu
To see a complete list of what activities that can be recognized and how many credits you can obtain for them please check the Guidelines for credit recognition AY 2025-2026
Whether or not you choose to recognize credits, getting involved in these activities outside the regular classroom will not only sharpen new skills, but are also a great incentive to make the student’s education more well-rounded, varied and fun! University years are one of the best periods in life to explore new activities, try different things, and see what you’re passionate about.
