SPANISH LAW TRACK
Building upon your foundational understanding of comparative law gained during the first three years of the program, our Spanish track offers a comprehensive exploration of the Spanish jurisdiction, equipping students with a solid grasp of Spanish Business Law.
This advanced course is conducted in Spanish and led by esteemed professors and practitioners. It adopts a practical approach tailored specifically for Dual Students (BBALLB, LLBBIR & PPLELLB) of the IE Law School who aspire to practice law in Spain or plan on studying the Master Acceso a la Abogacía. The Spanish Law Track encompasses crucial areas of Spanish law, including public, constitutional, and administrative law, as well as private, property, commercial, and procedural law.
It will be taught in Spanish and so a minimum B2 level of Spanish is required.
Los objetivos de este programa son:
• Entender los principios generales del Derecho Español.
• Conocer la legislación y jurisprudencia española.
• Familiarizarse con la terminología jurídica española.
El programa se lleva a cabo en los últimos tres años de la carrera,
con un total de 12 ECTs.

TRACKS
During their elective semester, students will be able to choose specific courses that will grant the opportunity to specialize in certain areas based on their interests or possible specializations by choosing a track. Through these tracks, you will form a strong professional profile, making you a very desirable candidate in each of these fields.
By specializing, you will learn from industry experts, top academics, and real-world professionals who will help prepare you to tackle the most complex challenges in each area.
Tracks are open to all students and each school might provide an internal certificate for that particular track.
LAW TRACKS
Receive a certificate of specialization in either Human Rights & Social Justice, International Business Law or Technology & Digital Law by enrolling in and passing 15 ECTS or more of elective courses.

By specializing in Law, Human Rights and Social Justice, the student will develop the strong analytical skills necessary to understand the challenges and stakes in human rights and in the pursue of social justice, such as minority rights law, access to justice, criminal prosecution of human rights violations, gender & child rights, refugees and asylum, among others. The track prepares the student to pursue a career in international organizations, international courts, public servant roles, non-government agencies, or any other position where a deep knowledge of international human rights law and public international law is required. Through a practical approach, the student will also develop the necessary skills to become an advocate for human rights such as leadership, negotiation, persuasion, empathy and public speaking.
By studying this track, students will specialize in the intersection of Law and Business. They will explore the legal implications of globalization and business internationalization through courses such as advanced corporate law, contract drafting, cross-border mergers & acquisitions or international tax planning. This curriculum equips students for careers as transactional lawyers, in-house counsel, or arbitrators. The track’s highly practical approach will help students discover various practice areas in transactional law practiced in law firms and in-house legal departments, as well as understand the needs of businesses to become trusted advisors.
While technology presents enormous opportunities for social change and business disruption, it also poses many legal and ethical challenges. The tech and digital regulatory landscape is changing rapidly. To address this, it’s essential to equip future legal professionals with the knowledge and skills to understand this transforming legal landscape. This track delves deeper into tech and digital regulation, covering areas like data protection, patent and trademark law, cybersecurity and law & policy. In addition, students will gain a strong understanding of key technological developments and how they impact the legal field. The demand for professionals who understand technology and its legal implications is growing rapidly. This track prepares students to thrive in the evolving legal profession.
PPLE TRACKS
Receive a certificate of specialization in any of the following tracks by successfully completing 15 ECTS or more of elective courses in the area of choice.

This track builds on the rigorous intellectual training characteristic of the PPLE. Apply analytical skills and abstract reasoning to address the fundamental questions that arise in other disciplines such as business, computer sciences, politics, law and economics, to name a few.
By learning how to adopt logical thinking and present new hypotheses and solutions to problems, the student will be ready to pursue a career in the different fields represented in the program such as policymaking, strategic consultancy, law, economic strategy, and academia. The student can access courses such as applied ethics or moral philosophy so that the student will be able to analyze current issues such as privacy, artificial intelligence, identity, and more.
