IE Business School recently welcomed 62 of IE’s successful alumni back to campus for a dynamic weekend of reconnection and hands-on professional growth. Graduates of the IE-Brown and IE-GXMBA programs returned to recharge, reconnect with friends, and immerse themselves in an inspiring atmosphere of shared memories and opportunities.

The program reunions kicked off with a lively cocktail event where alumni networked and bonded with fellow former students. Attendees also participated in master classes on forward-thinking topics such as sustainability and artificial intelligence, which provided fresh and exclusive insights and sparked meaningful discussions.

Dean Lee Newman welcomed the participants, speaking about the ongoing connection between alumni and IE. A series of workshops and mentorship sessions followed, allowing alumni to share ideas and deepen their sense of community with their alma mater.

Both reunions, held on consecutive weekends in October, at the IE Tower provided an opportunity for alumni and current students to engage in a series of thought-provoking activities over the course of a weekend. Alumni participated in interactive learning sessions on contemporary issues and had the chance to expand their professional networks. For many, it was their first experience of the IE Tower, which contributed to a heightened sense of anticipation.

Sara Lindgren, Head of Global Alumni Relations, shared updates and insights, setting the stage for discussions about the future of the IE community.

"Reunions are unique opportunities for alumni to return to their alma mater, reminisce, reconnect, and reignite the fire within, creating new memories for the years to come," said Lindgren.

On the second and final day of the program reunions, engaged alumni participated in immersive workshop sessions and flash mentorship programs, with the objective of facilitating the community with new insights on global developments. Beyond these sessions, alumni had the chance to reconnect over breakfast and dinner, sharing personal milestones and reflecting on their journeys since graduation in a convivial atmosphere.

The Global Alumni Relations team at IE University is committed to fostering a sense of belonging and empower alumni connections through impactful events that celebrate shared experiences, inspire professional growth, and strengthen lifelong ties to the IE community. This dedication was evident throughout the IE-Brown reunion and was carried over into the IE-GXMBA get-together on the October 25th-26th, where alumni took part in a bespoke weekend designed to align with their distinctive professional trajectories and interests.

"These gatherings honor the past by rekindling nostalgia and remembering experiences at IE, while embracing the future by refreshing their learnings in the classroom once again and at the same time building new, meaningful connections," Lindgren added.

Carlos Garcia Sanchez, GXMBA 2021, described the reunion as "a magical and unique moment."

"Having the opportunity to see my colleagues face to face is a magical and unique moment; it felt as though not a day had passed since we last saw each other," he said. "It shows that for us, time and distance don’t exist, because we’ve proven that if anyone needs something, we are all there to support each other."

GXMBA alumni applauded the initiative, highlighting the importance of connecting with other graduates from the same program.

"I had a wonderful time, met super interesting, intelligent, and inspiring people. Overall feeling blessed to be a part of this distinguished community of IE," said Yoav Bloch, co-founder of Archimedes Learning Solutions.
