Strategic partnership provides IE students direct access to Spain's leading energy infrastructure company through mentorship, recruitment programs, and educational initiatives.

Last week, IE Talent and Careers launched a strategic partnership with Cox, one of Spain's leading renewable energy and infrastructure companies, establishing a preferred recruitment pathway for IE students and alumni.

Pablo Barrasa, HR Director of Cox, and Ines Drieselmann, Vice President for Alumni and Careers at IE University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide a direct talent pipeline between IE students and alumni and Cox, creating opportunities in renewable energy, water management, and infrastructure development across Spain.

"Our partnership with COX reflects our shared commitment to preparing the next generation of purpose-driven leaders for the challenges and opportunities of the global energy transition," said Drieselmann.

Through this partnership, Cox will gain access to the IE Talent and Careers ecosystem, participating in two annual Career Forum events and becoming a partner in the Young Corporate Program, the university’s four-year comprehensive job access initiative, featuring mentorship, shadowing, and internship opportunities.

Beyond conventional job placement, the collaboration offers educational opportunities for students at undergraduate and graduate levels. These include business challenges proposed by Cox for student competitions, educational projects identified by the company for IMBA Labs, and student club events.

"We are betting on something we consider of utmost importance, which is young talent development," said Barrasa, "we appreciate that IE is leading young talent initiatives, and that is exactly where we want to be."

IE University and Cox also share their commitment to diversity and creating opportunities for women in STEM, an issue Cox is passionate about addressing through the dissemination of more information to young girls.

Last year, IE University School of Sci Tech held a panel called "Sci Tech Women: Mentorship Program" to close its mentorship program with lessons from female mentors and mentees about what it means to be a woman in sci-tech fields.

"By giving IE students direct access to real-world projects, mentoring, and industry insight, COX is not just offering career opportunities, they’re actively helping shape the future of sustainable infrastructure and talent development," said Drieselmann, "this is the kind of high-impact collaboration that defines IE’s approach to employer engagement."

This partnership arrives amid Spain’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector, creating increased demand for skilled professionals with experience and knowledge of the latest renewable energy technologies and processes.

IE Talent and Careers remains committed to forming partnerships with employers that create mutually beneficial opportunities and allow students to gain access to the latest relevant knowledge for rapidly growing fields.
