Inside the MBA Company Sessions: IE Talent & Careers Connects Students with Global Recruiters
Talent & Careers hosted two days of MBA Company Sessions, giving students direct access to top employers across industries and valuable insights into global career opportunities.
IE University’s Talent & Careers organized the annual MBA Company Sessions, bringing together leading employers and IE International MBA students over two days at IE University’s Maria de Molina campus. The sessions were designed to help students engage directly with employers, gain insights into recruitment processes, and explore potential career opportunities.
For Juan Sanz Fernández, Director of Employer Partnerships at IE Talent & Careers, the sessions are about creating touchpoints that matter.
"These sessions give students direct access to recruiters and insights into company culture and selection processes," he said, adding a wide range of participating companies shows how MBA talent is valued beyond specific sectors. "Students should not filter opportunities solely by sector but see that employers from a wide range of industries are actively seeking MBA talent."
Among the institutions present, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) emphasized the importance of values and persistence. Senior Recruiter David Mayor noted that purpose remains central to their work: "We need people who are passionate about our mission. Every project must meet sustainability and impact criteria."
At Philip Morris International, the focus was on making the most of career-building opportunities. Laura Menéndez Ropero, Senior Talent Acquisition, encouraged students to be proactive: "My advice is to take advantage of networking: connect with people, add us on LinkedIn, and explore different areas of the company."
Emerson also highlighted professional growth through its global MBA program. For Ximena Errazuriz, strategic planner and IE IMBA alumna, adaptability made all the difference. "Adaptability and flexibility are key. Leveraging IE’s resources and network helped me find exactly what I was looking for."
The second day focused on consulting firms, where recruiters highlighted long-term collaboration with IE. Antonio Cerezuela Fernández de Palencia, Director in the Business Transformation team at FTI Consulting, explained why the school remains a key partner: "We’ve been working with IE for more than 10 years because its students have strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills."
The MBA Company Sessions brought together diverse industries, consulting firms, and alumni role models, giving students valuable opportunities to learn from recruiters and explore different career paths.
Through initiatives like these, Talent & Careers creates spaces where employers and students can connect meaningfully, helping MBAs gain the insights and relationships that will support their future careers.
