Talent & Careers Team introduces resources for MIM students.

IE Talent & Careers provided advice, resources, and actionable strategies for students in Master in Management. Held at the IE University’s Tower, Talent & Careers welcomed 200 students of the January intake of the master program.

From personalized guidance to sector specific insights, the event highlighted how students can prepare for their future, regardless of whether they aspire to be entrepreneurs, join family businesses, or are still discovering their passions and showcased the various Talent & Careers services available to them.

The event opened with Teresa Callejo Pajares, the Head of Master in Management, emphasizing the extensive support that the department offers and encouraging students to take advantage of the doors it opens for career success.

“IE community starts right here, so engage with our pathways speakers, with alumni, with current students, with the Talent & Careers team, with Clubs, because the more you invest in the community the better your return, not just for your time on campus but for life,” Callejo Pajares said.

Natalia Shusstova, Senior Associate Director, applauded education’s transformative power.

“I believe in the power of education to change people’s lives for the better,” said Susstova.

Clara Pinillos, another Senior Associate Director, told students to invest time and energy in creating their career path.

“A career is not something you find from one day to another; a career is something you build day by day,” she said. “Through IE, you can identify areas of improvement and strengths, and we’re here to help you take advantage of both.”

The event was divided into specific sectors: Global Impact, Finance, Tech, Consulting, Diversified Industries.

Stefano Ugarelli, Associate Director, discussed how MIM graduates make meaningful contributions in the Glocal Impacts sector, calling attention to the Sustainable Development goals established by the United Nations.

Beatriz Torres followed, sharing insights in the Finance sector, including career progression, salary growth, and the importance of networking, with resources such as a finance-focused WhatsApp group to stay informed.

Highlighted by these resources provided, the event featured multiple interactive qualities. Sectors offered QR codes to scan with the purpose of gathering information as well as joining conversations with like minded students.

Lourdes Duran, MIM Tech Advisor, focused on key trends such as generative AI, cyber security and green tech, while also sharing advice on breaking into the sector, including the importance of proactivity and being result-driven.

For the Consulting sector, the most sought after field amongst MIM students, Natalia Galavus addressed what employers seek and provided resources such as a route map to consulting.

The final sector, Diversified Industries, was covered by Rafael Herrera and Mariana Medina, who shared insights on careers in consumer goods, healthcare, and industry, outlining who students can contact for more information.

After the event, students gathered to network.

Attendee Maheen Mohammed, Master in Management student, expressed appreciation for the event’s clarity.

“I really like the event because it’s specifically designed to help us understand our career pathways, giving detailed instructions on how to find that pathway and the perfect job market for our specifications,” Mohammed explained. “I like how structured it is and how they’re trying to get us involved in everything that’s going on. It’s very informative and helpful for someone starting out as a master’s student.”

Mohammed expanded on how the event opened her eyes for new projects.

“This event is helping me broaden my vision and understand other sectors beyond the ones I was initially focused on,” she said. “For example, I wasn’t into finance, but now I know what’s involved and how it works. It’s been very informative.”

For other students like Sravya Geethika Dantuluri, the event was useful to decode the recruitment process and provide clarity on next steps.

“Before, I was confused about what to choose and how the recruitment process works. Now, after the event, it’s clear how each sector is differentiated and when to apply for internships or jobs. It’s made the process much easier,” Dantuluri shared.
