From hospitality management to sustainability, Lucia Mannarelli’s career has taken some unexpected turns. But no matter her title, one thing has remained the same: her commitment to impact. "I want to help drive change in established companies. It might be tough to be in sustainability, but I’m willing to make the change, and I think it’s worth it."

Lucia Mannarelli

Born in Germany, grew up in Spain, earned a bachelor’s degree in Switzerland and now working in the country’s economic and financial heart. Like so many of the IE Community, Lucia’s profile is incredibly international. She credits her time at IE Business School with helping her see sustainability as not just a marketing claim, but a strategic business pillar. Additionally, she gained the quantitative skills to excel in this increasingly data-driven field. By combining her technical and analytical abilities, she’s helping shape how hundreds of buildings across the UBS network use water and energy, thereby helping ensure one of Europe’s biggest financial institutions leaves a positive mark on the environments in which it operates.
