International Committee

The International Committee at IE School of Architecture & Design is a strategic body of experts established to help shape the future of a full-spectrum school of design and expand its global influence across architecture, design, real estate, urban development, and the broader creative industries.

This distinguished committee brings together leading voices from a wide range of disciplines to guide the School’s evolution and ensure that its academic programs remain innovative, interdisciplinary, and globally relevant.

Led by Chair Ben van Berkel, Founder and Principal Architect at UNS, and David Goodman, Dean of IE School of Architecture & Design, the International Committee plays a central role in identifying emerging trends, cultivating interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthening connections between education and industry.

Its insights help align the School’s curriculum with the evolving demands of the profession, preparing students to lead the future of design and the built environment.

As a critical advisory body, the International Committee regularly evaluates the School’s positioning within the global educational and professional landscape. It supports the School in responding to significant global shifts—including the rise of artificial intelligence, the climate crisis, mobility transformations, and economic change—ensuring it not only keeps pace with developments but anticipates the skills and knowledge essential for the future.
