Edward Cuming, IE School of Architecture&Design Professor, Wins the Vogue Fashion Fund 2025
Cuming joins Tíscar Espadas and Evangelina Julia as the third IE School of Architecture&Design faculty member to be recognized by Vogue.
Madrid, 24 November 2025 - Edward Cuming, faculty member at the IE School of Architecture&Design, received the Vogue Fashion Fund, which recognizes emerging fashion designers. Organized by Vogue España in collaboration with Inditex, the prize celebrates innovation and craftsmanship in contemporary fashion through financial support, professional mentorship, and media visibility.
Cuming, Australian-born designer, has built his brand around a contemporary and emotional approach to tailoring that blends movement and precision. All garments are produced in Spain in collaboration with local workshops - a model that reflects his commitment to a conscious, human-centered production. His work captures the vulnerability and fluidity of modern dressing through silhouettes that are both refined and expressive.

Cuming described receiving the award as both an honor and a responsibility, emphasizing the importance of supporting independent creativity in today’s fast-paced fashion landscape. He acknowledged that running an independent brand often means "facing an uphill battle in an industry that favors speed and profit over creativity and community," but added that awards like the Vogue Fashion Fund "give small labels the chance to grow on their own terms independently and responsibly."
This year’s Vogue Fashion Fund also recognized Evangelina Julia (Evade House) and Gimaguas as finalists, representing a new generation of designers who merge craftsmanship, art, and inclusivity. Evangelina Julia, together with Tíscar Espadas, last year’s winner, are faculty members of the IE School of Architecture&Design Bachelor in Fashion Design program.

Inés Quezada, Academic Director of the Bachelor in Fashion Design at IE School of Architecture&Design, highlighted the significance of this recognition for the program:
"Edward Cuming works with a natural, almost musical fluidity in the way he mixes colors, textures, fabrics, and patterns. His collections bear his signature, a free and authentic voice. He aligns with our understanding of fashion as a form of cultural expression, and he brings that spirit into the classroom, empowering students with the creative tools to find their own identities", said Quezada. "Seeing three of our faculty members recognized by Vogue España in consecutive years is a testament to the extraordinary talent and vision shaping our community".
