Beatriz Corredor Sierra is Chairwoman of the Red Eléctrica Group and the Board of Directors of Red Eléctrica Corporation in Spain. She was former Minister of Housing of the Government of Spain, former Member of Parliament for Madrid and Chair of the Committee on Justice at the House of Commons.
She is an expert in the legal areas of urban planning, property rights, real estate, company law, taxation, mortgage, financial and administrative processes. Beatriz has held several high standing positions in politics. She has served as Secretary of the Area of Land Management & Planning and Public Policies on Housing, Chair of the Pablo Iglesias Foundation, Director of Institutional Relations of the Spanish Official Association of Property and Mercantile Registrars and Member of the Governing Board responsible for Institutional Relations and of the Press and Communications Office. Additionally, she has served as Secretary of State for Housing and Urban Affairs at the Ministry of Development and Chair of the Board of Directors of the State-owned Land Management Company, SEPES. She was also Minister of Housing of the Government of Spain and Councilor of the Madrid City Council and as Board member of the Municipal Housing and Land Company, EMVS.
Beatriz´s academic experience includes teaching at several prestigious universities in Spain. She holds a law degree from UAM Madrid and her postgraduate studies include certificates in Executive Education from IESE-Business School.
Beatriz Corredor currently teaches at IE school of Architecture and Design. Her courses include social and affordable housing in the Masters in Real Estate Development program and Affordable Real Estate in the Global Masters in Real estate programs.
