IE University Hosts Invest in Madrid
More than 100 companies join IE University and partners to build connections and expand operations in the city.
IE University’s Talent & Careers hosted its first-ever Invest in Madrid event in collaboration with the Community of Madrid’s investment entity and South Summit, designed to bring together 107 companies across several sectors, all either new to the city or preparing to establish a presence here.
As the Community of Madrid’s investment promoter, Invest in Madrid is designed to support companies throughout their investment project in the Madrid region. It is responsible for promoting the Community of Madrid as an investment destination, as well as aiding already established companies, to boost their growth in the region by giving them support in the administrative, operational and strategic processes in their expansion projects.
Ines Drieselmann, Vice President of Global Alumni and Talent & Careers at IE University, welcome participants to the landmark event and said it could "help companies navigate the logistical and administrative challenges of settling in Madrid while connecting them with a strong local network and community to grow."
The initiative presented IE’s wide range of corporate collaboration opportunities, from talent acquisition to customized internship programs across undergraduate and master’s programs, such as Next Generation and the Master in Management and International MBA Internships.
"We offer companies a menu of institutions and services to tap into," Drieselmann said. "But more importantly, we help them integrate into a community where collaboration fuels collective success."
Two companies—Hashicorp and Payoneer—also shared their own success stories and challenges to support others navigating similar transitions.
Franzel Delgado from Payoneer said, "We’ve only been in Madrid for about six months, and building the right connections early on is crucial. This event is a great opportunity to meet others in the ecosystem and continue supporting and benefiting from the local talent."
Participating companies applauded the initiative. By connecting companies with local ecosystems, talent, and each other, IE Talent & Careers continues to reinforce Madrid’s position as a value-driven destination for business growth.
"We are already getting new companies approaching us with vacancies for our students and also, looking forward for to next edition of our Invest in Madrid event," said Raquel Mediavilla, Senior Associate Director of Recruiter Relations for Talent & Careers. "It was very interesting for companies attending to know our talent and understand how flexible we are as an institution to seek ways to collaborate with companies and try to accommodate their needs."
