Leader in leadership thinking: IE Business School’s Margarita Mayo featured on Thinkers50 Radar

IE Business School is pleased to announce that its professor of leadership and organizational behavior, Margarita Mayo, has been included in the 2017 Thinkers50 Radar.

Produced annually, the Thinkers50 Radar features the top 30 management thinkers most likely to shape the future of how organizations are managed and led. It showcases truly independent-minded thinkers from around the world, who are all driven by curiosity and innovation.

“I am thrilled to be part of this year´s Thinkers50 Radar list of top management thinkers,” said Mayo. “It is wonderful to join a truly global community which values business ideas that can improve the world around us. It is my hope that together we can shape the future of how organizations are managed in order to improve both business outcomes and individuals´ wellbeing.”

A professor of leadership and organizational behavior at IE Business School, Margarita Mayo is also a Fulbright Alumni of Harvard University and her work has appeared in leading academic journals as well as international media. Her forthcoming book looks at the shifting nature of authenticity in leadership roles.

Highlighting the achievements of women thought leaders

In 2017, for the first time, the Thinkers50 Radar includes more women than men. The rise in influential women thinkers is also notable on the Thinkers50 ranking, where the overall number of women thought leaders has grown rapidly over recent years. “It is important to note the rise of influential women who voice their unique ideas and serve as role models for future generations,” noted Margarita Mayo. “It is a privilege to join these incredible thinkers.”

IE Business School has an ongoing commitment to diversity. Thirty-eight percent of its faculty are women. This represents the highest proportion of women faculty in the top 50 business schools included in the 2016 Financial Times ranking.
