Guide for Parents & Guardians

Welcome Parents & Guardians: Your IE Summer School Guide

For parents & guardians of IE Pre-University and Pre-Tracks Summer Programs.

This page gathers all the essential information about safety, accommodation, travel, and logistics so you can feel confident that your child is safe, supported, and thriving throughout the program.

Safety & Supervision

Your child’s safety and well-being are our top priorities.

We maintain strict supervision and clear communication at all times.

  • 24/7 Supervision

Our team of supervisors, mentors, and program staff is present around the clock to guide and support students. The staff-to-student ratio is 1 chaperone per 10 students, ensuring individual attention and care.

  • Medical & Emergency Support

Comprehensive medical support is always available, including access to local healthcare providers. All participants must have valid health and travel insurance for the duration of the program.

  • Security On and Off Campus

All residences and activities are supervised, with secure access and night staff. Transportation to all program activities is organized by IE.

  • Respectful Environment

We foster an inclusive and safe atmosphere guided by a clear Code of Conduct, ensuring every student feels valued and supported.

Accommodation & Meals

    Modern, Comfortable Housing

Students will stay in IE University’s residence halls or trusted partner accommodations, all offering private rooms with private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, cleaning, and laundry services.

    • In Segovia, the residence is a 10-minute walk from campus.
    • In Madrid, students are transported daily by shuttle bus.
  • 02.

    Meals & Dietary Needs

All meals are included and served in the dining halls. We accommodate allergies and dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free options.

  • 03.

    Curfew & Supervision

A curfew is in place to ensure students’ safety and wellbeing. Residences are monitored by staff 24/7.

    Travel & Logistics

    Airport Pick-Up & Drop-Off.

    • On the first day of the program

On the first day of the program, the IE Summer School team will greet students at Madrid Airport between 6:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and transport them to the Segovia campus by private bus.

      • Two shuttle departures are scheduled (morning and afternoon).

    • On the final day

On the final day, transfers will be provided to Madrid Airport. We recommend booking flights after 4:00 p.m., since morning activities include final presentations and the graduation ceremony.

      • Students arriving after 4:00 p.m. will need to arrange their own transportation to Segovia.

    Visa & Insurance Requirements

Students needing a visa will receive official documentation and guidance from IE. All participants must have valid travel and medical insurance during their stay in Spain.

    • Travel to and from Spain.
